About the Problem: Drug Use by Professionals
Recently, it’s become more socially acceptable to use recreational drugs with co-workers, at work-related events and even at the place of business. Unfortunately, many companies also don’t drug test after hire.
From happy hours to holiday parties, illicit drug use by often highly educated professionals is wrongly thought of as no big deal. All the while, fentanyl lacing is becoming more and more prevalent. It’s the perfect storm for a rise in fentanyl poisonings within our professional workforce.
DFIJ gave an amazing presentation to the early- career professionals at my company. Their message was impactful and deeply resonated with the audience. This crisis is real and can impact anyone, regardless of age, race, socio-economic status, etc. I hope that the DFIJ foundation can continue to educate people of all age groups about the dangers of Fentanyl so that no one else ever has to experience a loss like Tom and Stephanie did.
Fentanyl is the USA’s #1 killer of 18-45 year olds.
